The Lovett School

We put our own mark on design thinking and developed the method we use in the Lovett Middle School called Design in Motion. By researching various design thinking methodologies, we were able to create Design in Motion to allow for the integration of design thinking and our curriculum in order to foster middle school student success. All of our middle school teachers have been through Design in Motion training, and many teachers incorporate the design thinking experience into their classes. Some highlights include the communication unit developed by our 6th grade language teachers and our 7th grade social studies class that uses the Design in Motion process as the vehicle for exploring class content.
