STEAM Academy FCPS

STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics - is the broad umbrella for how the curriculum in this new "innovation zone" program is organized. Students tackle high school concepts at very high levels, all through the lens of authentic, problem-based learning within the STEAM lens. What makes our school special Students have the opportunity to learn high school skills and concepts within authentic contexts of their choice under the STEAM umbrella. They receive an individualized, problem-based learning experience supported by intense use of technology as a learning tool. Students also focus on developing critical workplace skills such as collaborating effectively as a team member, creatively solving complex problems, communicating effectively and appropriately, and thinking critically.
