We our in our third semester of teaching Design Thinking as an honors level course to high school students. We teach the students the Design Thinking methodology in the first weeks of the course,then allow them to utilize the process to solve a challenge for a real world company. During our pilot semester last fall, we worked with a digital media firm, All Things Media, and their partner, the Liberty Science Center. This past fall we partnered with Crisis Text Line and are about to work with American Express in this current Spring semester. While working through these challenges, students strive to come up with innovative, human centered solutions for the companies but develop crucial 21st Century Mindsets along the way.
